Frederic Thierry D’Argenlieu
Frederic organized his first circus show in 78 when he was 12 years old. Then he studied electronic in Versailles where he was also a gymnast and spent his holidays doing street performances, fireworks and lighting in Charentes maritime. Performing arts cie invited him to be their lighting engineer and stage manager. In the same time, he worked for Philips. Arriving in Hong Kong in 96, he started to work for LFI like audio&video technician. He joined HKTA since 2010 and didn’t give up to be the stage manager and designer for each performance since! Married and father of a lovely 14 year boy he loves to run over the hills of Hong Kong as well as sailing when he doesn’t spend his time in his garden !
Expatriate since 2003, Carine has relocated in her beloved HK in 2011. She enjoys dancing, playing piano and organizing events. In 2005, she started to plan concerts and media broadcastings as a radio manager also in charge of mixing sounds for a webradio in London. But, the sound was not enough… Her loves for visual shows pushed her behind the stage to handle sounds & lights technics bringing along her enthusiasm to support performing artists.
Aurélie Gandilhon, born in 1982 in Marseille, studied art and architecture which led her to work on stage and backstage. She has been involved in decoration, lighting, props, and production. She participated in major projects in France and abroad. She collaborated with ‘Opera Garnier’ in Paris, the ‘Theatre Royal de la Monnaie’ in Brussels, the ‘Marseille Opera’ and the ‘Festival d’Art Lyrique’ in Aix-en-Provence. Today, her life is in Asia, where she works for ‘Dragone Production’. In 2010, she creates ‘OULALA FLOWER’ and develops the graphic design of this company. In 2011, she creates ‘HEY PRODUCTION’ to pursue her love for live performances. Since 2011, she is involved with HKTA as its set designer, creating “Le père Noël est une Ordure” and “Les pas perdus” sets. For the 2013 French may edition, she was involved in the creation of ‘Le Cabaret des annees Folles’ .
Originally from Vancouver, aka Hollywood North, Albert Cheung has been involved in Hong Kong amateur theatre for 10 years and has enjoyed every moment. Working as an English teacher by day and photographer in his spare time, he has had the incredible fortune of watching some great shows and working with great talent throughout his ten years. With over 14 years experience in the makeup field, Makeup Artist for fashion house and Training Manager for cosmetics companies, one of the thing I am most happy about is to be part of the HKTA adventure! With them in backstage almost since the start is a great pleasure and a lot of fun each time. I hope you’ll enjoyed the show as much as I do. Break a leg everyone!
Make up Artist
Leena Lempinen is an accomplished and creative make-up artist with experience in all aspect of make-up for Beauty, Fashion, Editorials, Film, Stage and Events. She has been involved with number of stage productions in Hong Kong over the last 10 years. She is also a qualified Beauty Specialist. She regularly runs make-up and skincare workshops, often combined with styling advise, in various establishments. She is delighted to be part of this excellent play and working with such a talented cast and crew.
A South African born hair stylist , make up artist and educator. Yentl has more than 10 years experience working in the world of fashion, TV and advertising, as well as the salon industry. She does hair and makeup for special occasions such as weddings, proms, anniversaries and cocktail parties. As the daughter of Rennie Fensham, creativity is in her DNA, she grew up helping out backstage and also in her mother’s salon from an early age which has set Yentl apart from the average stylist. She started working behind the scenes on her first TV productions and beauty pageants at the age of just 16. Do not let her youthful appearance fool you when it comes to experience!
Here I am standing behind you … some delightful person has put me in charge of the surtitles. So I shall get my act together and trusting my fellows on stage to follow the script, not to add or detract from the text : remember one forfeit per mistake !! ( I leave that to your imagination…). We are delighted tonight to offer our most welcome non-French speakers within the audience an opportunity to follow the play with the surtitles up ( and not down ). Karine Zanini as always is employing her time to learn and teach ( as well as to teach and learn) whilst traveling on her spare time, experimenting life through her own prism.
DSM – Lighting Designer
Van Chiu is delighted to be on board on this hilarious comedy re-run for Hong Kong Theatre Association again as lighting designer and technical manager. He has been working behind the scenes for years mainly as a DSM, lighting designer and technical manager. Most recent productions include Filumena, Yellow Face, Inspector Call, Hamlet, The Rivals & The Divine Mrs. Sheridan, Rocky Horror, Six Characters in Search of an Author, Arturo UI, ART, Talk Radio, Quartier Pigalle, Agnes of God.
Aurora Corpus is involved in numerous stage plays in Hong Kong and other live events. She is the CEO of Beauty 101 by Aurora – Beauty, Grooming and Personal Wellbeing education for Women & Men (20 yrs. old +), Teen Girls and Guys (16 – 19 yrs. old). Professional / corporate Workshops, Seminars and custom Training activities. Professional Make-Up, Styling & Image Design / Art Direction Services including private clientele, Special Occasions / Celebrations / Parties / Bridal, Performing Arts Styling (Music / Theatre / Dance / etc.), Fashion Events, Entertainment, Media Photoshoots, Photography, Film & Video.
Katy has been working backstage in HK for several years. Previous roles include DSM for Glorious (Sweet & Sour Productions), The Graduate (Hong Kong Players) and My Big Gay Italian Wedding (WAG Productions), scriptwriter for Robin Hood and Little Red Riding Hood (both Hong Kong Players pantomimes) and production manager for various shows with Perilous Mouths Entertainment. Katy will next be DSM for Hairspray (Face Productions), coming up in June.
